Brogan's First Bath

I gave Brogan his first real bath today. He didn't care for the experience at all. However, I think he enjoyed relaxing in his towel afterwards.

A Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Lenneman!

It's August in Chicago and yet we had to bundle up and wear fleeces and sweatshirts to eat dinner out in the yard!





























All the Grandparents in the same place! What a treat for Brogan, even though he slept pretty much the whole time.

Brogan and Adoring Adults

 

On Thursday, Brogan took his first stroll around the block. We've also realized that he has such skinny legs that his newborn diapers don't really keep liquids contained...which was confirmed once and for all on Fritz's shirt. Grandma's arriving with some even tinier diapers today.

Brogan James Lenneman was born at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2009, weighing in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces; and 21 inches long.

Five days after her due date, Brooke started labor at the stroke of midnight on Monday. Her water broke at 12:30, we got to the hospital at 4:15, and Brogan arrived just four hours later.

Our plans went off perfectly--natural childbirth, no drugs--albeit in a much shorter time than we had expected.

A note from me, Fritz: In case you're wondering, Brogan was my dad's mom's maiden name (and is my middle name). James is Brooke's grandpa's name.

40 Weeks and Waiting

This weekend was hot and humid and we spent most of it feeling like we were just waiting. Of course, no baby yet.













Clark spent the weekend enjoying the sunshine from a precarious perch.

38 Weeks

As of tomorrow, August 4, I will be 39 weeks and one week away from the official August 11 due date. I am ready to say goodbye to the gigantic white watermelon (that's what Fritz thinks my belly looks like)!
