Sleep

Up until recently Brogan slept like a typical newborn - 2 hours at a time, even at night. But he's started to sleep for longer periods at night starting around 11 o'clock. The last 5 or so nights he slept for about 4 and a half hours in a row. However, last night he slept for SEVEN hours straight! Let's hope it wasn't a fluke.

Since Bo's been smiling and getting more social, he does not nap as readily as he once did. I've started trying to put him down for a nap in our bedroom in his bassinet. Today I put him down drowsy but awake and he fell asleep on his own! It doesn't work every time, but I can seem him making progress on soothing himself to sleep.

The good sleeping combined with Brogan's outgrowing the newborn diapers, smiling and cooing, a much stronger neck, and increasing chubbiness make me happy and a little sad. He's growing and changing so fast! (I'm not at all sad about the sleeping though.)

5 Week Doctor's Appointment

Sorry no photo to go along with this post. Bo had his one month checkup yesterday (he is 5 weeks though). He now weighs 10lbs and is 22 inches long. He didn't cry at all until he got his Hep B shot and then only cried for a few seconds. He even flashed the doctor a smile!

More Post Bath Relaxation

Brogan loved the bath this last time - I think it is mostly because I've improved my technique. He especially loves relaxing post bath, although I think he is wondering why I've made him wear that hat. He seemed cold!

In these photos Brogan is sitting in his vibrating bouncy chair. It is his favorite place to hang out and sleep. We are so thankful for this chair!

Brogan and Quynh

The two little ones just happened to match, so couch photos were in order! This is the first, I am sure, of many photo shoots involving Brogan and his (and our) friend Quynh. She came with her parents, Matt and Huong, to visit us and watch the Bears game this Sunday.

Brogan's First Bottle

I have taken on the challenge of the breast pump. Breastfeeding is so much easier and more efficient, but it is worth the effort for Fritz to be able to feed Bo. Brogan took to the bottle right away, and Fritz loved it too.

Great Grandpa Davidson

Brooke's grandpa, James (Brogan's middle name) Warren Davidson came to visit along with Brooke's Aunt Margaret, Uncle Dave and cousin (pictured) Conrad. It was amazing to see Brogan being held and loved by his GREAT Grandpa.

We hung out all together in the back yard and took Brogan on his first trip to Brookfield Zoo. It was a great way to spend the Labor Day weekend.
