14 Weeks
So big, and yet still so small. Bo loves chewing on anything, including my hand. This is his first time in overalls - a look I think he'll rock for a long time to come.

Brogan's Room
Last Saturday Brogan slept in his own room at night for the first time. He's slept there every night since. He wasn't phased by the transition - it was harder on me. I thought you'd like to see where the little guy dreams his dreams. I made the mobile from a found branch that Fritz painted it white and origami cranes. It was tedious to make, but it was totally worth the effort - Brogan LOVES it. He chats away to his birds as he drifts off to sleep and, in the morning, we often find him calmly awake watching them twirl.

Saturday Trip to the Botanic Gardens
Davidson women wander with swans.
We've had two beautiful (relatively for November in Chicago) weekends in a row. Last weekend we spent a sunny warm day inside painting Bo's room (we'll post photos soon). This weekend we wanted to take advantage of the weather and so we went to the Botanic Gardens with Grandma and Grandpa Davidson. Bo really enjoyed being the Bjorn - he especially loved all the tall grasses and trees with berries on them.
The highlight was seeing a peregrine falcon up close. The juvenile was perched on a low branch right by a walking path. I don't know much about falcon behavior but this one seemed to be acting strangely. At one point it swooped down onto the ground and some low plants in an area where it was almost completely surrounded by onlookers only 10 feet away. It then flew back up to the branch. It did not appear to be physically injured since it was flying, but seemed to me it might have had a screw loose! At any rate it was really cool to be able to see the falcon up close.

A Chat Before Bed
Brogan still sleeps at night in a swaddle. We started using the Miracle Blanket (seen in video) because he kept busting out of a normal blanket. As you can see, he likes being wrapped up!

Bath Time
Left Handed?
Fritz's mom says she knew Fritz would be left-handed when he made a habit of babbling away to his left fist. Brogan has become fascinated with his left hand, often holding it in front of his face and examining it with deep concentration. Fritz is getting excited, he'd like to have a fellow lefty in the house.
Check out Fritz's article on Oprah.com about raising a left-handed child.

Ten Weeks
The photo of Brogan sleeping is significant because he is NOT swaddled! I think that was, and still is, the only time that Brogan has slept in a bed without his arms pinned to his sides. I hope that this one time means that relatively soon he'll grow out of the need to be swaddled.
Brogan made some big discoveries in the second half of his 10th week. He's started batting and grabbing at hanging toys, my hair, blankets, etc. And he's discovered his tongue - he is enjoying sucking and chewing on it.
